After another dominant season, in which he led the league in passing yards and ranked near the top of each statistical category, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was awarded a new piece of hardware at the 2018 ESPYs

The ESPN award show, which aired Wednesday, handed out awards for all major sports and sports moments, among other things.

Brady beat out a pair of LA Rams, in running back Todd Gurley and defensive tackle Aaron Donald, and Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown, to take home the Best NFL Player award.

Brady, who threw for a league-high 4,577 yards and 32 touchdowns while completing 66 percent of his passes and tallying a 102.8 passer rating, was also up for Male Athlete of the Year.

To the dismay of Patriot Nation, Brady lost that award to Washington Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin.
