TLC No Longer Performing at Boston Calling Due to ‘Medical Circumstance’
BOSTON (WBSM) — The iconic TLC will no longer be performing as part of tonight’s lineup of the Boston Calling music festival, reportedly due to a medical issue.
The festival posted on its social media at noon today that “due to an unexpected medical circumstance, TLC will no longer be able to perform at Boston Calling tonight.”
The Grammy-winning R&B group did not post anything on its own social media as of this writing.
TLC formed in 1990 with original trio Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas. The group’s debut album Ooooooohhh... On the TLC Tip was released in 1992, with hits like “Ain’t 2 Proud 2 Beg,” Baby-Baby-Baby” and “What About Your Friends.”
The group’s popularity then exploded with its 1994 sophomore album CrazySexyCool, with smash hits like “Creep” and “Waterfalls.” The release of FanMail in 1999 with “No Scrubs” and “Unpretty” continued their run of success.

On April 25, 2002, Lopes was killed in a car crash, and since then, Watkins and Thomas have continued on as a duo.
Boston Calling announced that TLC would be replaced in today’s lineup by Boston-based group Dalton & The Sheriffs.
