[THOMAS] Mr. Governor, How Dare You Fund Planned Parenthood

The GOP led Congress is moving to defund Planned Parenthood. Now, Governor Baker wants to use $2M of our hard earned state tax dollars to surplant the fed tax dollars if they vanish.

This is not an issue about pro-life/pro-choice. It's about alleged crimes at the risk of the unborn. No abortion is not a crime. According to the Massachusetts Family Institute [MFI], Planned Parenthood directs a good portion of their funding toward political activity. I don't want my tax dollars used to lobby any Congressperson for or against abortion. The same for any state or municipal lobbying. Did you know the CEO of Planned Parenthood of MA earns more than a 1/4 million dollars/year? Five of her top assistants bring home six figures. Do they really need our tax dollars?

In a recent MFI release they also claim Planned Parenthood has been "implicated in covering up statutory rape, and accepting funds from donors wishing to abort minority children." I can only hope none of these donors are political figures. Add all this to allegations PP harvest aborted organs to gain revenue, and the time has come to say no more.

Mr. Governor, how dare you authorize my tax dollars to Planned Parenthood. Make a right about face. If your administration has to make drastic cuts to other programs, if the Commonwealth is facing another budget shortfall, then this voter believes the sensible choice is to halt your plan to grant $2M to Planned Parenthood until an independent investigation tells us the truth about that so-called non-profit!
