Hannah Jope graduates next week from New Bedford's premiere high school. Jope was home schooled by her mother when she decided change was paramount. Stating her folks did an excellent job at educating and rearing, Hannah knew she wanted more. Identifying the media field as her ideal area of concentration, Jope declared Media Technology as her high school major. Hannah reveals her parents couldn't teach the course offerings. At her mother's request Hannah researched GNBVT.

The Jope family made the correct decision sending Hannah to GNBVT. In fact, Hannah claims mother Jope ruled out New Bedford High citing the danger signs.

Mr. Mayor, quit begging for legislation that punishes GNBVT for figuring out legitimate course and shop offerings to attract good students that show up to school and intern assignments plus view college as a necessary evil. I've said it before and here again. NBHS must forget being semi-comprehensive and become the best at three to five core subject areas.

  1. English and Multiple Foreign Language Arts
  2. Business Administration
  3. World History
  4. Communications (written/vocal/video)
  5. Education (teaching/tutoring)

Become the expert high school institution in these five core subject areas, inclusive of theory and practical approaches. Brand New Bedford High School as the top learning spot in the region for students looking to concentrate in these core headings. Parents and students from Fairhaven to Westport will beat the door down to come to NBHS.
