The DOJ Talked Coup to Oust Trump [OPINION]
My suggestion in this space yesterday that senior Justice Department officials discussed staging a coup in order to oust President Trump was met with the expected reaction from the anti-Trump trolls. Several hours later, others began using the word coup to describe what happened as well, including noted liberal Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz.
Former Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe claims high-ranking officials at the DOJ considered using the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office in May of 2016, even though there was no evidence or allegations of criminal wrongdoing and no reason to suspect that Trump was incapable of performing his duties.
Dershowitz told Fox News host Tucker Carlson, “If (McCabe’s comments are) true, it is clearly an attempt at a coup d’état.”
U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) agrees and is promising a full investigation. Let's hope the new Attorney General William Barr is willing to convene a grand jury and perhaps appoint a special prosecutor.
The corruption that has been uncovered at the Department of Justice should concern Americans of every political stripe. But why would so many career people at Justice risk so much, including the stability of the nation, just to remove a president they don't like? There has to be more to it than that.
There are many deep, dark secrets that would have remained in the closet had Hillary Clinton won in 2016. Trump's victory threatened to expose a lot of those secrets and the people involved. That is why the Herculean effort to keep Trump from getting elected and then trying to remove him once he won.
Let find out just what those secrets are.
