A new study by the Journal of Pediatric Psychology has found that televisions and computures in children’s rooms are causing them anxiety.

The research found that children with televisons and computers in their rooms are more likely to lose sleep because the brain has been taught that the space is for action and entertainment  In short, if your child is used to using their room to play a loud, edgy game like Halo, the same space won't be seen as a tranquil place for nighty-nights.

Without getting the recommended rest needed to thrive each day, children’s school performance is also suffering.  The report also notes that “Adequate sleep leads to better emotional stability, more positive mood and improved attention, which are all likely to improve academic success.”

Have you noticed your child’s academic success rise and fall with the addition of technology in their bedrooms?
