Registration Open for Esports 2021 Summer League in New Bedford
New Bedford Parks, Recreation & Beaches has announced that enrollment for the Central MA Esports 2021 Summer League is now open. This opportunity is available to both residents of New Bedford and non-residents.
According to the press release, there is a partnership with GGLeagues to provide new gaming opportunities to the SouthCoast community through Esports.
“Our competitive league will offer your favorite video games and consist of players from Central Mass recreation departments. GGLeagues referees will organize, officiate, and monitor the game sessions in order to ensure proper conduct and sportsmanship.”
To participate, you must register first on NBPRB.com and instructions will be sent out on how to enroll with GGLeagues. This season will start on Monday, July 12, and end on Saturday, August 14. There are three divisions available:
Youth: Between the ages of eight and 12. The game times are from 7 to 8 pm.
Teen: Between the ages of 13 and 17. The game times are from 7 to 8 pm.
Adult: 18 and Older. The game times are from 9 to 10 pm.
You and your kids will have the chance to compete in your favorite games like Madden 21, Rocket League, and/or Super Smash Bros leagues. New this season, Fortnite is available for all age groups at no charge. Each league will consist of six weeks of competition, including five weeks of regular-season, and one week of playoffs.
Registration ends on Monday, June 28. The cost is $30 per player for all other games excluding Fortnite and there are prizes for players in the top place. All organized, competitive gameplay is scheduled weekly through GG Leagues.
