Taunton Two-Vehicle Crash Sends One to Hospital
TAUNTON (WBSM) — One person was sent to the hospital following a Tuesday night crash in Taunton that involved two vehicles.
On Tuesday, April 2 at 10:11 p.m., Taunton Police and Fire arrived at the Highland and Winthrop Streets intersection, where a crash had occurred between a tanker truck and a sedan.
The driver and sole occupant of the sedan, a 36-year-old Taunton man, was transported to a Rhode Island hospital to be treated for his injuries.
Authorities said the tanker truck operator, a 36-year-old Southbridge man, did not report any injuries.
The initial investigation indicates that the tanker truck was traveling on Winthrop Street (Route 44) when the sedan entered the intersection from Highland Street and collided with the truck.
A portion of Winthrop Street was closed while the scene was still active and reopened at approximately 3 a.m.
The crash remains under investigation by the Taunton Police Accident Reconstruction Team and the Massachusetts State Police Detectives Unit assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
