TAUNTON (WBSM) — A 14-year-old boy was seriously injured in a motor vehicle crash in Taunton on Tuesday involving a mini-motorcycle.

Police Chief Edward Walsh said that at about 3 p.m. on January 21, both the Taunton Police and Taunton Fire departments were called to the intersection of Somerset Avenue and Silverwood Drive for a report of a motor vehicle crash.

Officers arrived to find a two-vehicle crash involving a Toyota Corolla and a Kayo mini-motorcycle.

Walsh said the 14-year-old boy that was driving the mini-motorcycle suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

The driver of the car, a 17-year-old girl, was not injured.

Walsh said the crash remains under investigation by Taunton Police, with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
