TAUNTON (WBSM) — Three Taunton men were arrested recently in connection with a burglary that occurred back on January 13 in which the suspects allegedly stole $50,000 in cash and two firearms from a safe.

On that date, a resident of Winthrop Street reported a burglary to Taunton Police in which approximately $50,000 in cash and two firearms were stolen from a safe in their home.

The investigation led police to three suspects, who were arrested on February 3.

The suspects – Jonathan Hatch, 36; DeWayne Leo Rodrigues, 37; and Kurt Vachon, 34 – are all charged with breaking and entering in the daytime for a felony, larceny from a building and larceny of a firearm.

During a search of Hatch’s Buick Regal, police said they found a backpack containing about $25,100 in cash, 90 grams of cocaine, 109 grams of suspected fentanyl, and 159 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

Hatch and Rodrigues are also each charged with cocaine trafficking (more than 36 grams but less than 100), fentanyl trafficking (more than 10 grams) and methamphetamine trafficking (less than 200 grams).
