DARTMOUTH — Police have captured a person of interest in Dartmouth near the intersection of Slocum and State Roads.

New Bedford and Dartmouth K-9 units were reportedly used to search the area near St. Mary's Cemetery, where according to scanner chatter the male suspect had left a car and fled on foot.

State Police were also involved in the search, which is still affecting traffic in the area of Route 140 and Route 6.

State Police Air Wing was seen flying over New Bedford's West End and into Dartmouth.

Police have yet to disclose the person's identity or what he was being sought for.

According to scanner chatter, he was caught near the Village Cafe towards the intersection of State and Slocum Roads.
