In advance of Wednesday's tenth anniversary of the Station nightclub fire in Rhode Island, a memorial service was held Sunday in West Warwick for the 100 people who died in the fire.

Governor Lincoln Chafee and former Governor Don Carcieri as well as relatives of victims and survivors were among the speakers at the makeshift memorial at the site where the club once stood.

The Station Fire Memorial Foundation hopes to break ground on a long-awaited permanent memorial at the site later this year. Plans for the memorial were unveiled at the service.
