I preface this blog with full disclosure that my wife and I were owners of a local diner. That said, Darla Neugebauer, owner of Marcy's Diner in Portland, Maine is defending her yelling at a 21-month-old child for crying for 40 minutes in her restaurant. She said her loud outburst got the kid to quiet down, but it's created an uproar on Facebook and social media.

The child's mother, Tara Carson, wrote on Facebook that any mom understands that a crying child is a normal after waiting a long time for three large, adult sized pancakes. Neugebauer on the other hand says the mother ignored the child and when the food arrived, they didn't feed her. Food fight!

Ms. Carson, speaking loud enough for other patrons to hear, told her toddler daughter, "Listen, this is how I'm raising you NOT to be as an adult. I can't explain why there's crazy people in this world that behave like that!" Nonetheless, Ms. Neugebauer is standing by her actions and cares less what people are saying about her and her diner on social media.

So, the question begs, do you agree or disagree with Ms. Neugebauer's decision to let loose, or would it have been better to take the mother aside and ask her to quiet down her daughter?
