Rep. Antonio Cabral Wins 15th Term

NEW BEDFORD — State Representative Antonio Cabral of New Bedford has won his 15th bid for the 13th Bristol district.

Rep. Cabral easily defeated opponent and perennial political candidate E. Michael Janson by a 78.5% to 21.2% margin. Cabral received 7,817 votes to Janson's 2,109.

The 13th Bristol district is comprised of Ward 4, Precincts A, B, C, and F, and Wards 5 and 6.

Cabral was first elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives in 1991.

A total of 23,723 ballots were cast in New Bedford in the mid-term election, reflecting a 40.1% turnout of registered voters.
