Rehoboth police arrested two women for drunken driving in two separate incidents Wednesday night.

Around 6:44 p.m., a blue Nissan Maxima with Rhode Island plates was stopped for speeding on Route 6. Police say Analia Araujo, 41, of East Providence showed signs of intoxication. Following field sobriety tests, she was transported to the Rehoboth Police Station and booked. She faces OUI liquor, open container, and speeding charges. Araujo was released on personal recognizance and given a court date.

Later that evening, officers were dispatched to the area of 175 Bay State Road for a motor vehicle that had struck a utility pole in front of a cemetery. Officers located the vehicle, but the operator had left the scene. Sgt. James Casey found the suspect a short distance away. Angela Manning 38, of Rehoboth, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation, leaving the scene, a marked lanes violation and speeding. Manning is due in Taunton District Court on Friday.
