
Pedestrian Seriously Hurt After Being Hit on Route 44 in Rehoboth
REHOBOTH (WBSM) — Rehoboth Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Route 44 Monday.
At about 6:41 p.m. on October 6, Rehoboth Police and the Rehoboth Fire Department responded to the area of 469 Winthrop Street for a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.

Officers arrived to find a 53-year-old Rehoboth man had been struck by a vehicle while he was trying to cross the road. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. The identity of neither person was released.

The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to Rhode Island Hospital with what Rehoboth Police said were serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Police did not mention if any charges were expected, but did say the incident remains under investigation.
