With the MLB trade deadline coming up at 4:00 p.m. on the east coast, the Boston Red Sox have made a move to bolster the back end of their bullpen.

According to MLB Insider Jon Heyman, the Sox have struck a deal with the Minnesota Twins to acquire left-handed reliever Fernando Abad in exchange for reliever Pat Light.

2.65 ERA in 39 appearances for the Twins this season and has shut down lefties, holding them to a slash line of
.163/.192/.265 so far this season.

Throughout his seven year career, the southpaw has posted a 3.58 ERA. His addition will help strengthen a Boston bullpen that has been bit by the injury bug as of late.
