Providence College men's basketball coach Ed Cooley is thanking his supporters for their well wishes while he was hospitalized in Cincinnati.

The 45-year-old coach said in a statement Monday he feels fortunate to be at an institution and in a position that allows him to be surrounded by so many great people.

Cooley returned home Sunday. He says he feels great and looks forward to coaching the team's Wednesday game against the top-ranked Villanova Wildcats at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence.

Cooley left the court two minutes into the second half of the Friars' 78-69 loss to Xavier on Saturday and spent the night at the hospital.

Cooley says he was exhausted and dehydrated, and praised the Cincinnati medical personnel.

He's been Providence's coach since 2011.
