A plan to erect a cell phone tower in South Dartmouth has generated lots of controversy in town.

AT&T wants to construct the tower off Gulf Road, but residents claim the structure would negatively impact the view and character of historic Padanaram Harbor and the surrounding area.

But this caller told WBSM's Taylor Cormier, there is little chance the opponents can win....

The plan is currently before the Dartmouth Zoning Board of Appeals. Its next meeting is February 26th.

The latest group to oppose the project is the Mass. Historic Commission, which recently stated the cell phone tower "constitutes an adverse visual effect" to Padanaram Village and the Harbor.
