The New England Patriots were honored at the White House today for their Super Bowl XLIX win and President Obama had some words of wisdom for Rob Gronkowski.

Seems Gronk's reputation precedes him and President Obama was ready for him!

During the team's visit to the White House today where they were honored by the President for their Super Bowl win and presented him with his own team jersey, Obama got some jokes in at the team's expense.

He started by making a Deflategate comment (that earned groans from the team) and went on to tease Gronkowski a bit.

During his prepared speech Obama said,

I told him to keep his shirt on. He asked me what would happen if he took it off. I said ‘Secret Service probably wouldn’t like it.’ He said, ‘What would they do to me?'”

Gronk did in fact keep his shirt on, but his face showed he enjoyed the joke at his expense.

Julian Edelman, Malcolm Butler, Darrelle Revis, Jamie Collins, Shane Vereen and Rob Ninkovich all got mentions from the President as well.

Tom Brady by the way skipped the ceremony citing family obligations.
