The President and First Lady Michelle Obama will travel to South Africa next week to pay tribute to the late Nelson Mandela.

That will include participation in memorial events for the former South African president and anti-apartheid champion.  Mandela died this week after a long illness.  He was 95.

President Obama called Mandela one of the most influential and courageous people to ever walk the earth.  In White House remarks this week, the President said the world will "not likely see the likes of Nelson Mandela again." (Metro Networks Inc.)
