Authorities say a stabbing victim had to be flown to a Boston hospital after Lowell police found him with a sword sticking out of his body.

Police say the adult victim is expected to survive, and is believed to be a relative of a 26-year-old they arrested after the early Saturday attack.

Police say Steven M. Langner, who lives in the Lowell home where the victim was found, faces multiple charges that include armed assault with intent to murder.

Authorities say they arrested Langner when he returned to the same location hours after the 1:30 a.m. stabbing.

Langner is scheduled for a Monday arraignment in Lowell District Court.

Police didn't identify the victim, but said he remains hospitalized.
