Dogs in Fatal Dighton Attack to Be Euthanized
DIGHTON — The Dighton Board of Selectmen has voted to authorize the euthanization of several dogs that fatally mauled a Rehoboth teen earlier this month.
The Herald News reports the unanimous vote to euthanize the five dogs was made at Wednesday night's meeting.
14-year-old Ryan Hazel was found dead at 2477 Maple Swamp Road on May 9 after being attacked by the dogs. Hazel regularly looked after the dogs for their owner, Scott Dunmore, a dog trainer who was in Boston at the time of the attack.
Dunmore had approximately 20 dogs on the property.
Dunmore has been cooperative with police during the investigation.
