Police Investigating New Bedford Armed Robbery

NEW BEDFORD — Police were called to the 200-block of Holly Street late Wednesday afternoon after a report of an armed robbery.

When officers arrived, they were told by a man and woman that a male stole their moped. When they tried to retrieve it from him, the man flashed a knife and threw a bottle at the couple.

Police have not provided a description of the suspect as of yet. That person would be charged with armed robbery, theft of a motor vehicle and aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon.

Police were called to the scene at 5:36 p.m.
