A man from Milton has been indicted on drug charges after police discovered more than 100 pounds of marijuana in his owned self-storage facility in Lakeville.

According to The Enterprise, 42 year-old, Christopher Connolly, “was indicted on one count of possession with intent to distribute a Class D substance (marijuana) subsequent offense and one count of trafficking in over 100 pounds of marijuana.”

A Department of Homeland Security drug trafficking task force received a tip that an ABF moving pod parked at the ABF yard in Bridgewater was filled with illegal narcotics.

A K9 unit alerted the task force and State Police officers to a pod that smelled like marijuana.

The task force then followed an ABF vehicle that delivered the pod to Space Safe Self Storage on Harding Street in Lakeville. They began to monitor the pod and that’s when they observed Connolly opening the pod and transferring the boxes from the pod to a storage unit.

Officers then approached and arrested Connolly. That’s when a search revealed that Connolly was in possession of $512 in cash, three cell phones, and a card from the storage facility with the pin code for the gate at the time of his arrest.

After his arrest, the task force seized 216 vacuum sealed bags of marijuana and the bags contained labels with the names such as, “Barry White,” “Stinky Pinky” and “Trainwreck.”
