Police say a New Bedford man was involved in three seperate crashes Friday afternoon involving five cars including his own.

According to Information Officer Lt. Amos Melo, 50 year old John Pisarczyk was driving a car that struck another vehicle at Brock Avenue and Rodney French Boulevard.

The car then hit another car on Ellen Street before being involved in a third crash at Potomska Street and Route 18 where two vehicles were struck.

The suspect's car then came to a stop on Homer's Wharf. Police say Pisarczyk was driving while under the influence of drugs.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment and will be summonsed into court on motor vehicle charges, including operating under the influence of drugs.
