Plymouth Man Indicted for Murder and Other Charges in Road Rage Killing
BROCKTON (WBSM) — The man accused of murdering Brent Berkeley in a Plymouth parking lot last October following an incident of road rage has now been indicted by a grand jury.
Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz announced today that David Jerome, 24, was indicted on Tuesday by a grand jury on charges of murder, reckless endangerment of a child, unlawful discharge of a firearm within 500 feet of a building, threat to commit a crime, three counts of negligent operation of a motor vehicle, assault by means of a dangerous weapon, and unlawful possession of large-capacity weapon or feeding device.
On October 25 at about 5:45 p.m., Plymouth Police received multiple 911 calls reporting a person had been shot in the Middle Street town parking lot. Police arrived and found Berkeley suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth, where he was pronounced deceased.

The investigation by Plymouth Police and Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the D.A.’s Office determined that Berkeley was driving a Jeep SUV and Jerome was driving a Toyota RAV4 and the two were involved in a minor traffic incident.

A physical altercation between the two then ensued before Jerome allegedly shot Berkeley in the face. Jerome’s 18-month-old son was in a car seat in his vehicle during the incident.
Witnesses on scene identified Jerome, who was subsequently placed under arrest
by Plymouth Police.
Berkeley’s girlfriend Jessie Jenks works at the Speedwell Tavern directly across from the parking lot where Berkeley was shot and killed.
Speedwell owner Jordan Chabot and other Plymouth business owners later donated profits to Jenks and the couple’s two young children, Liam and Harper.
