Phil Paleologos Helping Meeting Street Telethon
Mark Twain wrote, "Kindness is a language the blind can see and the deaf can hear." And that's the language spoken during the 2018 Meeting Street - Schwartz Center Telethon and Online Auction, Saturday, January, 27 on WPRI 12 and FOX Providence from 7 pm to 11 pm. It will be my honor to be part of this fabulous humanitarian effort once again, and I'd like to invite you to stop by the Schwartz Center for Children, 1 Posa Place, Dartmouth, MA. This special event is presented by Cardi's Furniture and Mattresses.
You'll meet some of the most amazing co-hosts! Here's a brief introduction:
Brayden
At just 4 years old, Brayden is the youngest co-host in the history of the Meeting Street Telethon! Brayden started in Meeting Street’s Early Intervention program and is now a busy preschool student at The Schwartz School, located on our Massachusetts campus. Born with Down Syndrome, Brayden faces challenges as a result of his chronic lung and heart disease. Despite these challenges, Brayden is always ready to learn, play, and discover. He loves music, and if you know how to sing ‘Three Monkeys Jumping on the Bed’, you will win his heart!
Mary
Mary is 8 years old and was born with a rare neuromuscular condition called Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita. Mary has been receiving Outpatient Rehabilitation services at our Dartmouth campus since she was three years old. She is a very outgoing little girl who loves art, music, and movies and wants to be famous when she grows up.
Carlos
Carlos is in the 6th grade at The Grace School, Meeting Street’s nationally recognized K-8 school known for its inclusive education model for children of all abilities. Carlos’s favorite subject is science and he loves being a “Reading Buddy” with our kindergartners; he sure is a great role model to our young learners.
Samantha
Samantha started at Meeting Street in the Early Intervention program and is now an 8th grader at The Grace School. Known as “Sammy” and often called The Mayor of Meeting Street, Sammy loves The Grace School, and has made incredible progress. She hopes to be a teacher one day. Her favorite subjects are math and science.
