SEEKONK — Three pedestrians were struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of a retail store on Thursday, with at least one of them pinned underneath the vehicle.

In a release, interim Police Chief David Enos, Jr. said that on Thursday, January 20 at approximately 1:36 p.m., the Seekonk Communication Center received several 911 calls related to three pedestrians struck by a motor vehicle in the parking lot of the Ocean State Job Lot located at 150 Highland Avenue.

Dispatchers were informed that at least one person was pinned beneath the striking vehicle.

According to Enos, police officers and firefighters arrived on the scene quickly and assisted the victims. Airbags were used to lift the vehicle off at least one victim.

Enos said the three victims – all female – were transported to the hospital for serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

Seekonk Police will continue to investigate this incident.
