Pats Place DT Valentine on IR, Sign DL Grissom From Practice Squad
The New England Patriots announced that they have placed second year defensive tackle Vincent Valentine on Injured Reserve, as he has been dealing with a knee injury.
To fill the void on the team's active roster, created by Valentine's move to the IR, the Pats signed third year defensive lineman Geneo Grissom from their practice squad.
Grissom was selected in the third round of the 2015 draft by New England, but has yet to really develop on the field. Contributing mostly on special teams, the Oklahoma product has started the last two seasons on the team's practice squad.
Grissom will now get another chance to prove his worth on the active roster.
To fill Grissom's spot, the team added rookie wide receiver Riley McCarron to their practice squad.
MacCarron played at Iowa in college and went undrafted in the 2017 draft. He was originally signed by the Houston Texans, New England's opponent this week, but was released from their practice squad on September 18.
