The New England Patriots added linebacker Trevor Reilly to their active roster, from the practice squad, Wednesday.

The move was made as a result of the team placing undrafted rookie Harvey Langi on the non-football injury list. Langi had been involved in a car accident a few weeks back and spent some time in the hospital with a back injury. He has since been inactive.

Reilly's addition to the roster not only fills the void created by the loss of Langi, but it might also help the team's depth as it was reported earlier today that starting linebacker Dont'a Hightower will be out this week and possibly longer with a shoulder injury.

Reilly will likely not step into Hightower's role, but, as a core special teamer in his brief career, he might be called upon to fill in for a player that might be filling in for Hightower on defense.

To fill Reilly's spot on the practice squad, the team added defensive lineman Mike Purcell to the squad.
