Patriots Cut Safety Eddie Pleasant
New York Jets v Houston Texans
The New England Patriots began to cut their way down to their initial 53-man roster Sunday, as they reportedly released veteran safety Eddie Pleasant from his contract.
New of New England's decision was first reported by ESPN's Field Yates.
Pleasant, who spent the first six years of his career in Houston, was signed by the Pats this offseason and given a chance to battle for a spot in a crowded group of safeties on the New England roster.
The veteran recorded four tackles in the team's first preseason game, but had not recorded one tackle over games two and three.
