One Dead, One Injured In North Attleborough Car Crash

A Rhode Island man has died after his vehicle went off Interstate 95 in North Attleborough and struck a tree.

Massachusetts State Police say 31-year-old Lukasz Prokop of Cumberland, Rhode Island, was driving south at about 8:15 p.m. Sunday when his Cadillac swerved into the wooded area on the side of the highway.

Prokop was taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, where he later died.

A female passenger, described by The Sun Chronicle as a 27-year-old woman, was flown to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries.

Her name was not made public.

The accident is under investigation.
