Crews from Wareham, Mattapoisett, Rochester and Onset assisted Marion Firefighters battling a three alarm blaze Thursday night.

Marion Police Officer Karen Ballinger says several 911 calls were received around 630 p.m. at The Baywatch Realty Trust project (Marion Village Estates), which is currently under construction, on Village Drive.

Crews arrived on the scene and reported heavy smoke coming from a 30 unit building.

A third alarm was sounded due to weather conditions and the size of the building.

Ballinger says that approximately sixty firefighters were outside in extreme cold and high winds for more than six hours fighting the fire.

The Marion Department of Public Works, the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services Rehab Unit, and the Providence Canteen also provided assistance

No injuries were reported and the extent of the damage hasn't been determined.

The fire is under investigation by the Marion Fire Department, Marion Police, State Fire Marshal's office, and the Massachusetts State Police Crime scene services.
