ATTLEBORO (WBSM) — Authorities are investigating after two elderly people were found dead inside an Attleboro home this morning.
Discovery Made During Morning Welfare Check
According to a joint release from Attleboro Police Chief Kyle P. Heagney and Attleboro Fire Chief Scott T. Lachance, police and firefighters responded to 32 Andover Avenue at about 11:28 a.m. after a health aide requested a health and welfare check.
Nobody answered the door, so first responders forced their way into the home and found an elderly man and an elderly woman both deceased. Their names have not yet been released.
Investigators also discovered a dead cat inside the home.

Evidence of 'Significant' Fire Discovered Inside
According to the chiefs, there was evidence of a significant fire inside the house. They said the incident does not appear to be suspicious, but that both the cause of death and the cause of the fire remain under investigation.
