George Zimmerman reportedly will not face federal charges for killing 17-year-old black teenager Trayvon Martin in 2012.

ABC News says that's the announcement coming soon from the U.S. Department of Justice. This, after federal prosecutors apparently found insufficient evidence to prove their case against Zimmerman, who shot Martin in Sanford, Florida after a confrontation.

Zimmerman was acquitted of murder and manslaughter charges in 2013. The case sparked nationwide protests over race after it was found that Martin was unarmed, carrying only Skittles and an iced tea in his hands. (Metro Networks Inc.)
