How to Support Fall River’s Hurricane Ian Relief Efforts
United Way of Greater Fall River has kicked off a campaign to collect much-needed funds for those living in the wake of Hurricane Ian, and you can help.
Just a few short weeks ago, Florida was rocked by category 4 Hurricane Ian.
Ian brought 150-mph winds and more than 20 inches of rain to parts of the Florida coast and demolished homes and businesses alike.
Now the nearly 3.5 million people affected by this devastating storm need your help. United Way of Greater Fall River is providing you an easy way to give that help.
This local United Way affiliate has teamed up with the United Way of Lee County in Florida to provide direct support to the relief and rebuilding efforts.
Many Florida families have lost their homes or are facing thousands of dollars in damages. According to a press release from United Way of Greater Fall River, "more than $60 billion in insured damage was caused by Ian, though more damage was surely caused in properties that did not have adequate insurance coverage."
That means a lot of funds will be needed to rebuild these entire neighborhoods.
So, how can you help?
Though we may not all be able to take vacation time and head directly to Florida like some on the SouthCoast, we can all donate a few dollars to the United Way of Greater Fall River's Hurricane Ian Relief Fund.
Just click the link above to donate whatever amount you can and help these Florida families start to rebuild their lives again.
