Tiverton Man Sentenced on Fall River Robbery and Armed Assault Charges

TIVERTON (WBSM) — A Tiverton man was sentenced to state prison for robbery and armed assault violations after attempting to stab a man and police officers with a knife in Fall River.

The indictments stem from an incident on January 24, 2022. While outside of the Nature's Medicine cannabis dispensary in Fall River, Dillon Nobles, now 26, was approached by a man who asked him to make a marijuana purchase for him.

According to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office, the victim confronted Nobles again after he did not make the purchase.

Nobles then showed a folding knife and threatened the victim with it.

A short time later, Fall River Police and paramedics responded to the SRTA terminal for a report of an unresponsive passenger, later identified as Nobles.

Officers said that during the altercation, Nobles threatened the paramedic with a knife and attempted to cut an officer's neck. He then fled on foot along 5th Street.

Nobles was apprehended on Rodman and 5th Streets, where he again attempted to stab an officer in the neck with a knife before being tased by police. Offers eventually seized the knife, and Nobles was taken into custody.

Nobles pleaded guilty in Fall River Superior Court to indictments charging him with four counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and one count each of armed assault with intent to murder, armed assault with intent to rob, and resisting arrest.

He was sentenced to serve six to 10 years in state prison.
