
Newport Hot Dog Tower Is a Real Wiener
A barbeque staple is on full display at Wally's Wieners in Newport.
"We're all about creating an experience that allows people to come and enjoy a particular menu item as a group," said Brad Head, founder of Wally's Wieners.

What Is a Hot Dog Tower?
Wally's hot dog tower is on the menu and making waves in the City by the Sea.
"This is a fun way for us to showcase different hot dogs we have on the menu and presenting it in a really fun, inclusive way for the guests," Head said.

It's a frankfurter formation sure to wow your friends and your palette.
"We have a bunch of different hot dogs on the menu," Head said. "You can choose five of whatever you'd like, you get an order of fries and then you get six different dipping sauces that you can use for either the hot dogs, which are typically fully-loaded, or you can use them for the French fries"
Given Wally's Newport location, the inspiration was drawn from seafood towers, but making the towers work for hot dogs and fries took some thinking.

Building A Hot Dog Tower
Head and his team have ironed out all the details.
"What's the best way to serve it from the kitchen? What's the best way to get it to the guest? What's the best tower to use?" Head asked himself.

"Typically with new menu items, specifically specials we do like this, we like to start out in the late fall or early spring to give them a test run and keep them on the menu if they do really well," Head said.
You can order a hot dog tower at the Newport location and Wally's brand new Providence location when it opens later this May.
