What Is Coaching?
Coaching was very popular in the 18th and 19th centuries as a form of transportation, whether it be to attend social events or as a means of travel.
Though it began as a practical way to get around, deliver mail, etc., coaching was taken over by railroads, cars and other means of transportation.
However, its presence is alive and well as it has become a cherished tradition and beloved sport.
Event Details and Dates
A Weekend of Coaching, hosted by The Preservation Society of Newport County, will run from Friday, August 15 through Sunday, August 17.
A map of the driving routes for the coaching weekend can be found on the Newport Mansions website.
