There's a new leadership team at UMass Dartmouth.

UMass President Marty Meehan announced in a memo that Vice-Chancellor Mark Preble has been named Acting Chancellor, and Professor Michael Goodman, former director of the university's Public Policy Center, has been named university Provost.

President Meehan said he made the appointments after consultation with faculty, staff, students, and members of the SouthCoast community. Meehan said he had full confidence that Preble and Goodman, working with the university community, will have UMass Dartmouth fully prepared for a new academic year.

The moves come after the announcement by Chancellor Robert Johnson in June that he was leaving the Dartmouth campus after a three-year stint. Johnson will become President of Western New England University in Springfield.
