New Bedford Launches New NBConnected App for City Services and More
NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — Do you live in New Bedford and want to report a missed trash pickup, have a streetlight or pothole repaired, pay your tax bill or apply for a building permit?
There’s an app for that.
While that tagline may be overused in this day and age, the City of New Bedford is hoping its brand new, just launched NBConnected app will be used for every service residents need.
Mayor Jon Mitchell unveiled the new app today along with a new 311 phone system that connects city residents to a range of services.
“We are committed to making City services more effective and efficient,” Mitchell said. “NBConnected puts City services at residents’ fingertips. For those who don’t have mobile devices, you’ll find the same services available by dialing 3-1-1.”

Previously, the City used multiple apps such as the “See, Click, Fix” app for reporting potholes or other things that needed repair, or the Passport app to pay for metered parking.
Now, all those services and more are being integrated into the NBConnected app, which Mayor Mitchell touted at his State of the City address last month.

According to a release, NBConnected “has additional features” from the previous apps and “is better integrated to the City’s data system to streamline response time and analyze areas to improve service delivery.”
Users can also find other types of info on the app, including City of New Bedford employment opportunities, health information and more. It also links to Explore New Bedford, the City’s marketing and tourism department, for an online calendar of events and happenings around New Bedford.
There are also plans to continuously update and expand the app with more features.
You can download NBConnected from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
