When I think summertime, I think about sinking my teeth into fresh cut watermelon, juicy grilled burgers and those tasty little chicken salad and tuna finger sandwiches that always compliment a backyard party.

Speaking of which- if you’ve strolled through the deli at Market Basket in New Bedford lately, you may have noticed a couple of newcomers catching some attention in the fridge.

Boston Salads, a family-owned company out of (you guessed it) Boston, just rolled out two new creations that couldn’t be more different… but somehow both totally work and exude summer vibes.

First up, the Apricot Pecan Chicken Salad. It’s got sweet diced apricots, chopped pecans, and a little red onion for a savory crunch. Think summer picnic vibes in a tub.

Then there’s the Angry Tuna Salad, and let me tell you- as someone who enjoys food with a nice kick, my only hopes is that it lives up to the name. This one brings the heat with hot pepper relish and sliced jalapeños. It’s bold, spicy, and definitely not your grandma’s tuna salad.

According to BostonSalads.com, both come in 12 oz containers and are made fresh by Boston Salads, who’ve been doing their thing since 1991. So, it's safe to say they know what they're doing. You’ll find them stocked in the deli section now—just in time to shake up your lunch game, your backyard summer bash, or even a quick snack with some buttery Ritz crackers while binge-watching your favorite Netflix show.

Keep in mind that these two new items can only be found in New Bedford and not at the Fall River location.
