NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — Six people have now been arrested in connection with the May 26 murder of 21-year-old Kimberl Gedeon in New Bedford.

What Happened to Kimberl Gedeon?

New Bedford Police and EMS responded at about 9:10 p.m. that night for a report of shots fired in the area of Bedford Street and South Seventh Street. First responders arrived to find Gedeon on the sidewalk, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital and pronounced deceased a short time later.

According to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III, six individuals have now been arrested and arraigned in connection with Gedeon’s murder.

Who Are the Suspects Charged?

Three of the six face a murder charge and are being held without bail: Elias Ramos, 18, of Fall River; William Allen Robinson, 33, of Fall River; and Dariell Encarnacion Couvertier, 17, of Fall River. Ramos will next appear in court July 17, Couvertier on July 28, and Robinson on August 8.

Ahkari Jones, 30, of New Bedford has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder and is being held on $100,000 cash bail. At the time of the murder, Jones was out on bail on a New Bedford narcotics case, so his bail in that case has now been revoked and he is being held. His next court appearance is August 8.

Nezziah Davis, 19, of New Bedford has been charged with assault and battery by discharge of a firearm and carrying a firearm without a license. She is being held without bail as a danger and will return to court August 8.

Keyshla Martinez Matta, 19, of Fall River has been charged with assault and battery by discharge of a firearm and carrying a firearm without a license. She also has been held without bail as a danger and is due back in court on August 4.

How Authorities Coordinated the Investigation

New Bedford Police, Fall River Police, Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Bristol County D.A.’s Office, and homicide prosecutors from the D.A.’s Office worked together on the investigation to bring about the charges.

“I want to thank all who have been involved in investigating this homicide for their significant efforts,” D.A. Quinn said.
