NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — New Bedford Police detectives seized over 100 grams of cocaine from a South End apartment earlier this week.

An investigation into a cocaine distribution operation out of 12 Roosevelt Street was concluded on March 18.

Police said the target of the investigation was Jose Soto-Torres, 46.

A search warrant was executed at the apartment, which police said led to the discovery of approximately 130 grams of cocaine as well as a small amount of heroin. Also allegedly found were packaging materials and $161 in cash that was seized.

Soto-Torres was taken into custody and charged with trafficking cocaine in excess of 100 grams and possession of a Class A substance.
