Special thanks to Tetrault Insurance for sponsoring this beautiful event. What a joy.

The New Bedford Day broadcast took place on Tuesday, March 10 at sunny Fort Myers, Florida. Not only did Phil phone-in live reports within The Howie Carr Show between 3 and 5 p.m., but he also joined Barry Richard, with phone-ins twice an hour from noon to 3 p.m.

You probably heard from your favorite snowbirds who've sold their houses and retired to Florida. Some SouthCoast residents spend six months up here and six months down there. They all turned out for New Bedford Day by the hundreds. It's the reunion and festive get-together where everyone has a fun time with a beverage under the palm trees and blue skies.

Here's what one visitor had to say about the experience:

"It was wonderful seeing everyone interact with each other. Old acquaintances recognizing each other. New ones being pulled in to the fold. Eating, drinking, and conversation with old friends and new ones. What could be better? A wonderful time, location and weather. We met people who were there not only from New Bedford, but Fall River and Westport as well. We sat for a time with people who had come from Ocala and have been attending for the last seven years."
