New Bedford Is Ready to Rock for Chris McCarthy
Get ready to rock for Chris.
As WBSM’s Chris McCarthy continues to battle the after effects of COVID-19 and now the auto-immune disease that has destroyed his kidneys, his medical bills keep piling up. The COVID caused him to have multiple strokes and heart attacks while he was fighting the virus, and that had left him struggling to get back to normalcy even before his kidneys began shutting down.
Now, he’s on the list for a kidney transplant in addition to still fighting the after effects of the strokes, the heart attacks, and the bout with COVID.
A special fundraising event is being held Thursday, March 10 at The Vault in downtown New Bedford to help him pay off those ever-mounting medical bills.
This special night will be emceed by WBSM’s Phil Paleologos, and will feature WBSM’s Ken Pittman and his Bon Jovi tribute band, Living on a Bad Name. They’re one of the top tribute bands in the country, and they’ll be playing all of your favorite Bon Jovi hits such as “Livin’ on a Prayer,” “You Give Love a Bad Name,” “Wanted Dead or Alive” and more.
There will also be Fun 107's DJ Gazelle, other local acts, special guests, an auction and raffles, plus great food and drink available at The Vault.
Join us Thursday March 10 at 6 p.m. at The Vault in downtown New Bedford to rock for Chris.
Get tickets online here, at The Vault, or stop by the WBSM studio in Fairhaven in the coming days.
In addition, the Knights of Columbus in Mattapoisett are also planning a “Grab and Go” ham and bean dinner to raise money for Chris McCarthy. Check out the story to find out more information and reserve your dinner, with all proceeds going to Chris.
