NARRAGANSETT (WBSM) — Seven people were arrested, including a juvenile, following a large fight at the dock for the Block Island Ferry in Narragansett on Saturday night.

Five of the adults arrested were from Brockton, with another from Providence. Two people were taken to the hospital for injuries sustained during the fight.

According to Narragansett Police Chief Sean Corrigan, the incident occurred at about 8:12 p.m. on June 15 when police responded to a report of “20 to 30 individuals actively fighting.”

“Officer Brandon Gagnon was first to arrive on the scene and immediately requested backup,” he said. “Upon arrival, officers witnessed a large group of individuals fighting each other.”

Corrigan said as officers were making arrests, “numerous individuals began interfering and were given warnings to stand back or they would be arrested for obstructing.”

Corrigan said the investigation into the incident is ongoing, but that the following individuals were arrested at the scene:

Maneul Pina, 42, of Brockton on charges of felony assault, resisting arrest, obstructing an officer in execution of duty, and disorderly conduct.

Gilda Antunes, 28, of Brockton on a charge of obstructing an officer in execution of duty.

Elsa Lopes, 31, of Brockton on charges of simple assault, resisting arrest, obstructing an officer in execution of duty, and disorderly conduct.

Henry Lopes, Jr., 32, of Providence on a charge of disorderly conduct.

Victor Manuel Gomes Depina, 39, of Brockton on charges of obstructing an officer in execution of duty and disorderly conduct.

Michael Gomes Lopes, 36, of Brockton on charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

A 16-year-old juvenile on charges of simple assault and disorderly conduct.

The seven individuals are expected to be arraigned Monday in District Court 4th Division, Corrigan said.
