As Moby Dick Brewing continues to ramp up for a springtime opening in downtown New Bedford, they have just released the labels for some of their first brews. 

Brewmaster Scott Brunelle is focused on delivering grain to glass quality beer and will start with seven popular styles with names taken out of Herman Melville's Moby Dick. Labels for each brew have been created by Spectrum Marketing and can be seen below along with a description of the beer by Moby Dick Brewing and the excerpt relating to the name.

According to the latest update, the kitchen remains under construction, the 14-stool bar is being finished, and the brewing equipment should arrive in two more weeks.

Moby Dick plans to open its doors this March and will feature seven taps of beer brewed in-house and traditional pub fare as well as artwork depicting the Whaling City's nautical history.

    Ishm-ale Irish Amber Ale (5% ABV, 25 IBU's)

    A medium-bodied Irish-style ale brewed with European kilned malts balanced with American and UK hops.

    Quick Eternity West Coast IPA (6.5% ABV, 70 IBU's)

    A medium-bodied, dry-hopped unfiltered ale with an assertive hop character featuring citrus notes.

    Simple Sailor American Lager (4% ABV, 8 IBU's)

    An easy-drinking, light-bodied American-style lager brewed with North American malts and Noble hops. This is your best bet if you're accustom to Budweiser, Miller or Coors.

    Rising Wind German Export Lager (5.2% ABV, 30 IBU's)

    A medium-bodied, well-balanced German-style export lager brewed with the finest German specialty malts and European hops.

    Stove Boat Dry Irish Stout (4.5% ABV, 40 IBU's)

    A light-bodied dark ale brewed with roasted and un-malted barley and hopped with English-style hops creating a pleasant  bitterness and creaminess.

    Sailor's Delirium DIPA (8.5% ABV, 90 IBU's)

    An aggressively dry-hopped double IPA featuring a malty backbone and an impressive aroma.

    Whale's Jaw American White Ale (4.8% ABV, 15 IBU's)

    A sessionable white ale brewed with American wheat and yeast, finished with coriander and orange peel to offer a crisp finish with a bright citrus aroma.
