Massachusetts-Born Baywatch Hunk Is a Tabor Academy Graduate
TV heartthrob David Chokachi slayed the ladies in his television roles on Baywatch, Witchblade and Beyond the Break, but learned how to strut his stuff on the sandy beaches of Massachusetts first.
Born David Al-Chokhachy on January 16, 1968 in Plymouth, Massachusetts to a Turkish-Iraqi father and Finnish mother, Chokachi attended Marion's Tabor Academy, where he played lacrosse and football.
Chokachi earned a degree in political science from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine but opted for an acting career instead.
Chokachi launched his acting career in 1995 on TV's popular Baywatch series, where as lifeguard Cody Madison he saved many a damsel in distress for four seasons. From 1999 to 2002, Chokachi appeared on the TV series Witchblade as Jake McCarty.
Chokachi appeared in numerous TV programs and made-for-TV movies before landing a spot on Beyond the Break in 2006 and on VH1's Confessions of a Teen Idol. In 2020, Chokachi starred in the film Emerald Run, among other projects.
A biography says Chikachi was one of People magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People in the World" for 1997.
In a 2020 interview, Chokachi told WorldFilmGeek.com, "When I'm not acting, I do carpentry, and I also surf."
The Baywatch star married Susan Brubaker in 2004. The couple has a daughter.
Chokachi was friends with Ron Goldman, who along with Nicole Brown Simpson was murdered in 1994. O.J. Simpson, who recently died, was acquitted of killing the couple.
Chokachi told E! News, "Ron was a good friend of ours and the day that he was murdered, we played softball together that morning and it happened that night."
